I have worked professionally in the Information Technology field since 1997. Before leaving the corporate world, I spent the last decade of my career supporting all the behind the scenes computer systems that facilitated team collaboration, as well as many of the key enterprise applications that generated our competitive edge. I helped support our database, web and application servers, email systems, security and firewalls, as well as the behind the scenes services that helped power our entire data and voice network infrastructure, such as DNS and Active Directory.
Back then my expertise regarding email was focused on how to combat spam and keep it out of our network.
Today I am passionate about the opposite side of that coin. My passion is email marketing. Not spamming, but legitimately and effectively communicating your message through email marketing campaigns. Despite what many online marketers believe, email is far from dead. It's still the most effective way to grow your audience, sell your products, and inspire legions of raving fans. But only when done right. Do it wrong and you too will join the list of "email doesn't work" complainers.
