Subject: 2 Great Mount Diablo Hikes on Sunday
From: John Bondon
Two great hikes are planned for this weekend, and the best part of each for me, is I'm not leading either one of them! That means I get to take a back seat and be a follower this weekend. Special THANKS to Brian, Evan, and Tina, for volunteering to lead these hikes! :)
For those looking for a challenge, join Brian, better known as our Fearless Leader, in his quest to reach all four major Mount Diablo peaks in a single day! The day starts at 8:30AM and should end before the sun goes down. You'll find more information about Brian's proposed route posted on the website. Bring LOTS of water and food to snack on for this one!
For those looking for something not so hardcore, join Evan and Tina for a beautiful 11.4 mile hike on the north side of Mt. Diablo. Evan warns that though this will be a more leisurely hike than Brian's Four Peaks Hike, this one is not recommended for beginning hikers either because of the 2400 foot elevation gain.
To find out more about either upcoming hike, visit the East Bay Casual Hiking website.
If anyone else is interested in leading some upcoming hikes, please don't be shy. To lead a hike simply email me with all the pertinent information, including date and time, trail name, and any related web links, and I'll post it! That's all there is to it! :)
Happy Trails! :)
