From: John Bondon
First of all, let me extend a big THANK YOU once again to David, David, and Paul for leading 3 great seperate hikes last weekend! Unfortunately, I was under the weather, and missed all three, but from what I've heard, they were all well received, well lead, and greatly appreciated by all who attended! Great job, guys!
And that's exactly the idea of why I formed this group. Anyone who would like to lead their own hike, anytime, let me know! :)
This weekend calls for the possibility of rain, so I decided to re-visit a paved trail we did last February. This will shield us from the mud in case the forecast turns out to be correct.
Sunday's hike will be in Walnut Creek, will consist of mostly flat terrain (some uphill inclines on the return loop, however), paved trails, and a total distance of approximately 8 miles. Plan about 3 - 4 hours roundtrip. This will be a loop hike, or those who wish to leave early can turn back at any point as well.
Since weather conditions are questionable for Sunday, please phone my cell phone at (925) 457-7717 after 9AM for an update as to whether the hike is still on.
You'll find more details about this upcoming hike posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. RAIN CANCELS.
Happy Trails! :)
