Subject:           3 New Hikes this Weekend!
From:               John Bondon
Greetings Everyone!

Hope you are enjoying this fantastic weather! Things will be warming up in time for the weekend! Don't forget your taxes are due this Friday. :-( Once you get all that beyond you, come on out and join us for a hike! :->

This week we have not just ONE hiking opportunity, but THREE to share with you! Many, many thanks to our members David, David, and Paul, for stepping up to the plate and offering to lead some great hikes this weekend!

The fun starts Saturday morning with a hike at Castle Rock in Walnut Creek. Paul will be leading this one, and says it will be a moderate hike with the option of visiting the Castle Rocks, themselves.

Then on Sunday, two different hikes are available at different parts of the East Bay at the same time. Starting from our usual meeting spot in Clayton, David will lead a hike up to Eagle Peak. Bring a camera and be prepared for some fantasic views of Contra Costa County and beyond from this vantage point!

For those who prefer to hike on the west side of the Oakland/Berkeley Hills, and in this case, right alongside the Bay, check out David's Point Isabel hike in Richmond, also on Sunday morning. This is a very dog friendly location, and home to the famous Mudpuppy's Tub & Scrub AND Sit & Stay Café . It offers great views of the City, Angel Island, Brooks Island and the Richmond Marina.

(BTW, in case you're confused, NO, this is not the same David that will be in Clayton ... these are two different David's .. though if anyone knows the secret for how to be in two places at once, please DO tell!) ;~>

If anyone else is interested or willing to lead a future hike of their own, please let me know! How does it work? Simple. You pick the place, the date, and the time. Then send me an email with all the info, including any relevant web links, if available. (Also, in the interest of personal privacy, please let me know whether or not you're willing to have your contact information posted on the website. This is strictly your choice.) Then I'll post all the info and send out an email to the group. That's all there is to it! :)

You'll find more details about these upcoming hikes posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. Simply click on the name of the hike that interests you for more information, including directions to the meeting location.

Happy Trails! :)

Happy Trails,

John
