Subject: Sunday Hike at Lafayette RIDGE
From: John Bondon
Hope you had a great Easter Sunday, for those celebrating. :) Last Saturday turned out to be a GREAT DAY for a hike! We hiked Las Trampas, doing the reverse route of how I normally lead it. The only down side was the amount of mud we encountered on the last part of trail. I certainly expected we would encounter mud, but I forgot how shaded some sections of the trail were, so was a lot more muddy spots than I had planned. Should have worn my older hiking shoes! Oh well... ;)
This Sunday, expect to encounter some mud, but I doubt we'll see too much, though there IS a small chance we might get some rain Sunday.
I want to point out that this Sunday's hike is at Lafayette Ridge, off Pleasant Hill Road. Not to be confused with the Lafayette Reservoir --- a totally DIFFERENT location!
You'll find more details about this upcoming hike posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. Remember, heavy RAIN CANCELS.
Last but not least, my tennis season starts up this weekend. (As a matter of fact, my first match will be this Sunday afternoon after our hike!) But unlike my last two tennis seasons, most of my matches will be on Saturdays, leaving my Sundays free for hiking. :) I am, however, NOT available Sunday, April 10th, to lead a hike. If anyone is interested in leading a hike that weekend (whether Saturday or Sunday), please let me know!
Happy Trails! :)
