Howard reports of Sunday's Redwood Regional Park hike:
There were 38 hikers on a cool and mostly overcast Sundays trek through the majestic trees of Redwood Regional Park. We were accompanied by a few dogs and Alvin, the notable bunny rabbit. The climb from the Stream Trail to Redwood Bowl was strenuous, but doable, and helped keep us warm. The loop hike was about 6.75 miles long with an elevation gain of approximately 1350 feet.
Andrew shared these comments regarding last Thursday's Inspiration Point hike:
It did not rain on us. 16 hikers plus one dog. Overcast to start but it gradually cleared. Some really good views. I was serenaded at the Nike site and I so appreciate it. It surprised me. We tried to coffee in Orinda afterwards but there is no parking, so we gave up.
I got the perfect birthday present when I watched the last American troops leave Iraq today. Took so long to happen.
