Subject:           Mount Diablo Summit Hike & Round Valley
From:               John Bondon
Last Sunday turned out to be a great day for a hike! And we even made it back within 2 hours, which is the fastest time I think we've done as a group at that location. (2 hours is the time limit for the coin operated parking meters at Lafayette Reservoir.)

This Sunday, weather permitting, we will try Round Valley on the extreme eastern end of Clayton (out Marsh Creek Road, east of Morgan Territory Road). This will be my first time hiking this location, so we'll explore it together.

Since the weather outlook for that day is still rather questionable, phone my cell phone Sunday morning for the lastest go/no-go decision as to whether the hike is still on. I should have an updated message by 9:30am at 925-457-7717.

Last but not least, for those on the website lately, you may have noticed another hike posted for January. Our fearless leader, Brian, is offering to do a more challenging full day hike up to the Summit of Mount Diablo. This is planned for Saturday, January 8th at 8AM. If interested, please RSVP via the link below.

You'll find more details about both of these upcoming hikes posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. Remember, RAIN CANCELS.

Happy Trails! :) John
