Andrew said regarding last Saturday's Sycamore Grove hike:
Guess who showed up today? Mars, with his cane. He did most of the hike and spotted a bobcat. He got some pictures. Amazing. He is in a lot of pain. On a cold and foggy day we had 24 hikers. Lots of newcomers. Most of the trail was paved but the final 1.5 miles was on a dirt fire road. Not muddy. A good start to the Year of the Rabbitt. We will do these easier hikes once a month to see what the turnout is.
Howard reports of his Marshall Drive/Indian Valley School hike last Thursday:
Eleven hikers and one dog participated in our Marshall Dr to Borges Ranch loop hike on Thursday. It was a cold and foggy day which cleared only near the end of the journey. Peter's pictures at http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=926776 show how thick the fog was throughout the We encountered some mud during the hike but it was not as bad as expected. Total GPS data was 5.8 miles with a 1000-foot elevation gain.

Happy Trails,

John
