Mars breaks from Tradition; Thursday Martinez hike
Last week I shared the report of the
November 7th Las Trampas hike
but failed to share some of the pictures Mars shared with me.
My apologies for this. Sometimes I just don't get time to get everyting
formatted in time. So those pictures are being included in today's email.
You can view the full set of his picture online at:
Andrew reports of the more recent
Nov 14th Castle Rock to BBQ Terrace hike:
We had 23 hikers on our hike to BBQ Terrace.
It was a sunny, warm day but quite windy.
Here we snacked and rested.
Since we had 4 hike leaders, we decided to split the hike.
Howard, Marty and myself returned along Wall Point to the
Secret trail back to Stage Coach.
Our hike was 11 miles and 2,100 ft of elevation.
On our way back to Castle Rock we met another tarantulla,
a good sized rattle snake and one of hikers who was not part of this hike.
The rest of the hikers continued on to the Summit, led by Chris and Mars.
That's the good news.
On an easy section of Stage Coach I tripped and fell over an imbedded rock.
I banged up both knees and ruined my warm up pants.
I know it will hurt tomorrow.
I guess it was time for a new warm up.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about that, Andrew.
We hope your knees have fully recovered by now. :)
