Subject: Alternate Website Address
From: John Bondon
For those that have not been able to access the Hiking website Friday, my apologies. This is due to an expired credit card (actually, stolen credit card that was cancelled) on file with my domain provider. Unfortunately, since they were not able to rebill me they immediately shutoff the domain, so some users on the internet could not reach the Hiking website. Others were not affected, as domain information is typically cached.
The billing issue has been corrected but unfortunately I have no control over when the site will become available again for the rest of internet to see. The site IS up and I expect everything will return to normal Saturday morning. If this is NOT the case, however, please advise me.
In the meantime, for those who remain unable to access the standard website address, this alternate URL should work instead: http://hiking.technologyman.com/
Sorry for the hassle.
And while we're at it, a preview of our upcoming hikes, by the hike leader(s):
Andrew says of the upcoming King Canyon Hike hike on Sunday, November 22 at 9:30 AM: "When we hiked here last summer, the temp was 100 degrees when we finished. It was brutal. It will not be 100 this sunday.".
Howard says of the upcoming Las Trampas hike on Wednesday, November 25 at 9:30 AM: "A pre-Thanksgiving hike to help prepare us for a large turkey dinner on Thursday.".
You'll find more details about each of these upcoming hikes, including starting time and directions to the trailhead, posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. In the event of rain, please check with the hike leader as to whether the hike will proceed as planned.
Happy Trails! :)
