Howard reports of last Sunday's hike:

There were 35 hikers on our 6-mile Macedo Ranch to Castle Rock loop hike on Sunday. We were met at our Castle Rock Park rest stop by the Bondons, where John and Prachi introduced us to Liora, their 2-month old very attractive daughter. The group consisted of many long-time hikers and some first timers to the East Bay Casual Hiking Group. We look forward to seeiing all on future hikes.

This week Howard and Andrew are keeping the Sunday tradition as well as a recent Thursday weekday routine alive with 2 such hiking opportunities.

Howard says of the upcoming Brushy Peak Loop hike on Thursday, May 28 at 10:00 AM: "A moderate midweek hike approaching Brushy Peak, described by EBPARKS.ORG: ".

Andrew says of the upcoming Del Valle hike on Sunday, May 31 at 10:00 AM: "The hills around Lake Del Valle are alive. Check it out.".

You'll find more details about each of these upcoming hikes, including starting time and directions to the trailhead, posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. In the event of rain, please check with the hike leader as to whether the hike will proceed as planned.
