Report by Howard of his March 26th Marshall Dr/ Indian Valley School Staging Area to Borges Ranch hike:

Our Thursday Borges Ranch loop hike was attended by six hikers and three dogs. It was ideal hiking weather and the trek was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Iqbal reports of last Sunday's Lafayette Reservoir Rim Trail hike:
We had 41 hikers and one dog. Half a dozen men, the reservoir goddess is not too pleased with them! It was a gorgeous day the view were fabulous. We saw some wild flowers. The hills were still green and real pretty! Howard helped and stayed at the back. All the hikers finished pretty much in the same time.

MARS says of the upcoming BLACK DIAMOND MINES hike on Wednesday, April 1 at 9:30 AM: " come out and enjoy a mid week hike in the east counties Black Diamond Mine Regional Preserve. This is an excellent time of year to do these hikes. The hills are still green with plenty of wild flowers and wild life. We will not be having these hikes in the summer as there is little shade and this park really does get hot in the summer. Act now before its too late ! (we will also celibrate in mind today, 01 APRIL ".

Howard says of the upcoming Snyder Ln/Shell Ridge Loop hike on Thursday, April 2 at 9:30 AM: "Yes, another loop hike starting from a different trailhead with Borges Ranch as a midpoint rest stop. We will hike on some trails we have not yet traveled. It should be nice but cool hiking weather. Dogs always welcome in Shell Ridge.".

MARS says of the upcoming black diamond #2 hike on Saturday, April 4 at 9:00 AM: " lets hike the Black Diamonds before the heat keeps us away from this park. This is a dog friendly location so- bring along your best friend.(bring water for fido though there are several cattle watering holes in the valley that are still wet) bring your camera also as its still green with numerous wild flowers. We meet at just before 9 am and depart very shortly after....".

Diane says of the upcoming Briones Reservoir Loop - Clockwise - Oursan Trail hike on Sunday, April 5 at 9:00 AM: "Affectionately known as Diane's Death March...anyone that has done this hike with me in the past knows that it is physically and mentally challenging. I keep a pretty good pace, so if you aren't a strong hiker, make sure you stay with someone who knows the trail very well.".

MARS says of the upcoming black diamond #2 hike on Wednesday, April 8 at 9:30 AM: " Let us do another midweek of Black Diamond,, this time we will be starting at the weekend location on the eastern side of the park at the entrance of Contra Loma Park on Frederickson lane in Antioch. We will be viewing a different part of the park than what the last Wednesday group saw. Bring water, this is also a dog friendly hike.".

In the event of rain, please check with the hike leader as to whether the hike will proceed as planned.
