February 8th Las Trampas hike

I probably need not have to tell you why you haven't received an email from me these last couple of weeks -- No Hikes due to LOTS of RAIN! Even my tennis matches have been rained out and now we're scrambling to come up with make up dates. Oh how fun it is! :) I'm hoping to get back out on the trails in April myself. But Andrew and Howard aren't bothered so much by the wet stuff. As you can see from the photo on the right (click the image to see the bigger version), whatever Mother Nature has in store for them on their next advanture they say, "Bring It On!". :)

Howard reports of his February 8th hike at Las Trampas:

"A hearty group of 33 hikers braved the cold and moisture for the Las Trampas Peak hike. A few turned back when we encountered a muddy portion of the trail. And some others were reminded that making the wrong turn in hiking, as in life, may make the journey a little more arduous. Also, following the wrong leader may cause one to go astray. All except the early returnees made it to the cold, windy peak, and I believe all were pleased with the results. Thanks to Andrew for his valued assistance."

February 8th Las Trampas hike Andrew says of the upcoming Las Trampas hike on Saturday at 10:00 AM: "I have not gone away. It's tax season and it's wet. The ascent is difficult, but then it's easy. This is a doable hike.".

You'll find more details about this upcoming hike posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. In the event of rain, please check with the hike leader as to whether the hike will proceed as planned.

Happy Trails! :)

Happy Trails,

John
