Andrew reports of the December 4th Shell Ridge hike:

We had 9 hikers and no dogs on a clear, crisp day.
Breezy on the hilltops, but otherwise pretty calm and nice. We were chatting so much we missed our turn off trail for the 5 mile loop. My fault. We hiked to Borges Ranch, a 7 mile loop. Once again we fed the chickens. It was so nice resting in the warm sun.

And from last Sunday's Mount Diablo hike and Holiday potluck afterwards, Andrew had this to say:

What a great day! Special thanks to Peggi for hosting the Pot Luck. I counted 38 hikers. 5 miles and about 1,000 ft of elevation gain. All the hikers were between the many hike leaders, so I know everyone finished safely. So many leaders, Mars, Helene& Ted, yourself. It makes Howard's and my job so much easier. We had so many friends show up that we haven't seen in months. I really enjoyed the day.

Special thanks to Peggi for graciously hosting the potluck at her beautiful home. It certainly felt like the Holidays with all the beautiful decorations! And thanks to everyone who attended for helping to supply some scrumptious treats!

A Preview of our upcoming hikes, by the hike leader(s):

Howard says of the upcoming Fossil Hill Loop Trail hike on Thursday, December 11 at 10:00 AM: "This is another loop hike to Borges Ranch starting at a new (for us) trailhead with a slightly different route. About 5 miles with a 750 foot elevation gain. ".

Andrew says of the upcoming Nimitz Way (Paved) Trail - Inspiration Point hike on Sunday, December 14 at 10:00 AM: "I am only taking this trail through life once, so I hope you will accompany me today. It's one of my favorite hikes. I borrowed it from John.".
