Hike Walnut Creek Thursday; Clayton Sunday
For those who enjoy hiking during the week, you have such an opportunity with
Andrew TOMORROW morning in Walnut Creek. And don't forget about the pot luck after our hike this Sunday.
So bring your favorite dish to share and let's have a little after hike Holiday FEAST! ;)
Andrew reports of the Livorna hike last Sunday:
"26 hikers and 1 dog in really dense fog.
At times visability was less than 100 feet.
I loved it because we had walkie talkies.
It was about 5 miles.
Howard, Lucy and I led. We Starbucks'd after the hike."
Evan reports of his Thanksgiving Day hike along the Iron Horse Trail:
"It was a beautiful afternoon for a hike.
The air was crisp and the smell of fireplaces burning was in the air.
After a fun hour of walking on the Iron Horse Trail, we relaxed at Starbucks in Danville.
Over hot drinks we enjoyed great conversation.
We then continued our conversations walking back. A good time was had by all."
Last Saturday, Evan also lead the Annadel hike:
"We could not have picked a better day.
The sun was shining and the sky was blue.
It seemed as though there was a spectacular view waiting around each bend in the trail.
We stopped at many different places to take pictures and admire the scenery.
We didn't see any jumping frogs at Ledson Marsh, but we did see several newts trying to cross the trail.
We gently steered them to the side so they wouldn't be trampled.
Afterward, we enjoyed Himalayan food and great conversation at Yeti Restaurant in Glen Ellen.
It was a great end to a great day!"
Thanks to all our hike leaders for helping us to burn off some of that turkey and stuffing!
