Brushy Peak Hike Brushy Peak Hike This Thanksgiving holiday when you sit down and give thanks for all that we have, remember to give thanks for all the wonderful hiking opportunities we enjoy, both as a club, and also for all the wonderful parks and land that has been set aside for us to enjoy in this area. But also, join me in raising your glass and paying special thanks for the many wonderful volunteers among our ranks who help make these hikes possible. It is only because of their willingness to lead and post hikes that the rest of us have a place to go and participate!

If you'd like to join them and lead a few hikes of your own, please don't be shy. Contact me or chat with any of the other hike leaders in the group. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you get started. :)

Brushy Peak Hike Brushy Peak Hike Andrew reports of last Sunday's Brushy Peak Hike:

We had 45 hikers and 6 dogs (on leash) for our hike. Sunny, but cool and breezy. Once again Howard and I would have been overwhelmed by the number of hikers if it weren't for our co-leaders, Mars and Lucy. The walkie talkies really help.

I will make sure many people know about this park because it is special to me. We have so many beautiful parks here that nobody knows about. I will try to change that.
Special thanks to Lucy and Mars, as well, for submitting the pictures included in this email.

Evan says of the upcoming Iron Horse Trail - Alamo to Danville (Paved) hike on Thursday, November 27 at 12:00 PM: "Who says you can't go hiking on Thanksgiving? Spend a few hours working up an appetite for the big meal with a fun hike on the paved portion of the Iron Horse Trail in Alamo and Danville. ".

Evan says of the upcoming Annadel State Park - Lawndale Trailhead hike on Saturday, November 29 at 12:00 PM: "Amazing Annadel Hike #1. If you haven't hiked in this park, you are in for a real treat. The Lawndale Trail is a real gem but you would never know it just by looking. Hidden behind the parking area is a mountain covered with redwood and douglas fir trees and beautiful views of the Sonoma Valley. The top of the mountain is a hilly plateau with a scenic marsh. Need I say more? Note: Annadel is a State Park so dogs are not permitted.".

Brushy Peak Hike Brushy Peak Hike Howard says of the upcoming Livorna Rd trailhead to Borges Ranch hike on Sunday, November 30 at 9:30 AM: "A good opportunity to hike off some of those Thanksgiving calories. ".

Andrew says of the upcoming Mt Diablo WaterFall Trail (Regency Gate) hike on Sunday, December 7 at 10:00 AM: "Autumn is the ideal time to hike these trails. Cool temps and hopefully sunny skys.".
