From:               John Bondon
Last weekend Andrew fearlessly led a hike to the summit of Mount Diablo. He reports:
" Howard, Mars, Lucy and myself led 7 other hikers to the Summit. Comfortable at the start, freezing at the Summit. We could see our breaths. Once you were below Juniper Camp, it was nice. We all dressed in layers, so we were OK. We all finished safely. The early finishers took 6 hours. We saw a hang glider on our descent. "

He leds the next two hikes posted on the calendar as well.

Andrew says of the upcoming Elderberry Trail (Las Trampas) - (Main PAVED Parking Lot) hike on Sunday, November 16 at 9:30 AM: "Would anyone care to join me for lunch at Erik's Deli after the hike (a short distance away)?".

Andrew says of the upcoming Brushy Peak Preserve hike on Sunday, November 23 at 9:30 AM: "I think I know why the native Americans thought this place was sacred. You just have to come with us to find out why.".

You'll find more details about each of these upcoming hikes, including starting time and directions to the trailhead, posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. In the event of rain, please check with the hike leader as to whether the hike will proceed as planned.

Happy Trails! :)

Happy Trails,

John
