A report from Andrew regarding last Sunday's Wall Point hike:
I know I say this too often, but this was the IDEAL Fall day to hike in the East Bay. Low clouds and fog when we started, but soon brilliant sunshine. Howard, Judith, and I led 24 hikers (at the start) on this hike. The final total was closer to 30 because there were latecomers. We had 3 other hike leaders, Diane, Helene, and Mike. All worked together to make sure that nobody got lost.

Thanks to all for helping out! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we are thankful to have 3 great hikes planned for this weekend, including quite the creative hike by new member, Mike. But first, burn off those extra helpings of turkey and stuffing with one of Andrew's treks to Las Trampas this weekend. A Preview of some of our upcoming hikes, by the hike leaders themselves:

Andrew says of the upcoming Las Trampas Peak hike: "We can make this hike either 4 or 5 miles. Don't bring turkey leftovers to share.".

Mike says of the upcoming Two Bridges and a Lighthouse hike: "Two Bridges and a Lighthouse. A series of short hikes across two bay area bridges and a lunchtime visit to the scenic lighthouse at Point Bonita. Total mileage is about 5 miles, mostly flat!".

Andrew says of the upcoming Ringtail Cat to Las Trampas peak hike: "Does anybody know what a Ringtail cat is. If you do, you win a prize.".

Helene says of the upcoming Mitchell Canyon/Black Point Trail/Olofson Ridge Loop hike: "Join us for a beautiful hike that explores a variety of trails in Mount Diablo State Park -- from Mitchel Canyon to Black Point Trail, down to White Canyon and up again to Olofson Ridge. Co-sponsored by the MDIA. Arrange your own car pools with members of the group. Please be on time.".

You'll find more details about these upcoming hikes posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website. In the event of rain, please check with the hike leader as to whether the hike will proceed as planned.

Happy Trails! :)
