Subject: Return to Mount Diablo
From: John Bondon
Unfortuantely I missed last Sunday's hike led by Andrew and Howard at King Canyon. Andrew says it was another great hike, but " The fire road we were on between the 4 and 5 mile marker was barricaded with tree branches and eventually barbed wire. We were going to return the way we came but Will discovered a trail that would go through. ". Special thanks to Will for helping out as well!
Last Saturday's hike to the WaterFall Trail was fun, but sadly no waterfalls to speak of except a trickle here and there. But the flowers are in full bloom!
This weekend Sharon and Paul will lead seperate hikes with a "Diablo" theme, starting with a return to the WaterFall Trail, so if you missed it last Saturday, you have another opporuntity this Saturday! A Preview of some of our upcoming hikes, by the hike leader(s):
Sharon says of the upcoming Mt Diablo WaterFall Trail (Regency Drive - Clayton) hike on Saturday: "Celebrate spring with a beautiful hike to the waterfalls of Mount Diablo - some up to 100 ft high! This is a moderate hike, approximately 6-mile long roundtrip.".
Paul says of the upcoming Diablo Foothills hike (Alamo) on Sunday: "Figure on about 8 mi total distance. There is a bail out point for those who wish to only do about half the loop. ".
You'll find more details about these upcoming hikes posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website.
Happy Mother's Day and Happy Hiking! :)
