Subject: Back to Briones
From: John Bondon
Thanks to Diane for leading last week's King Canyon hike. Diane reports that 25 people showed up for the hike that day, which is a pretty typical turnout for our group.
This Sunday, Andrew and Howard will lead a hike at Briones Reservoir from the Bear Creek staging area in the Orinda/Lafayette area. This is just down the road from the Briones Reservoir Overlook hike that Diane lead a couple weekends ago. This will be a hike along the Oursan trail, which is an extension of the Bear Creek trail we did several weeks ago. It's a fire road instead of a single track trail and has more sun. This is a 6 mile out and back hike with beautful views.
WARNING: TIME CHANGE!
Don't forget to set your clock back one hour before going to bed Saturday night as this weekend marks the end of Daylight Savings Time! Starting Sunday at 2AM we convert back to Standard Time.
LOOKING FOR PLEASANTON RESIDENTS!
Finally, Andrew and Howard are seeking help from any members of our group who reside in Pleasanton. They would like to lead a hike along the Sinbad Canyon loop, but need help in finding Pleasanton residents who are willing to carpool with hikers to the staging area. You need to have one Pleasanton resident in every vehicle to enter the gated community that leads to the staging area. If you are a Pleasanton resident and are willing to help out, please contact me!
As always, you'll find more details about this weekend's upcoming hike posted on the East Bay Casual Hiking website.
Happy Trails! :)
