Pleasanton Parks Tour

City: Pleasanton
Region: EastBay
Park:

Sunday, February 12, 2006 @ 10:00 AM

Event Notes:

Look for the vintage red Civic hatchback. 233K and still going. This hike is like the Contra Costa Canal hike from 1/29, but not even close to last sunday's hike at Inspiration Point. Bring a lunch or snack. Hope to see you there.

Trail Notes:

Here is a tour of 3 Pleasanton parks and arroyo trails that most people don't know about. This will be a flat ~7 mile trek along paved and gravel trails. Gravel is only 10%. Rain is no problem. We will start at the Pleasanton Sports Park (5800 Parkside Drive), and then continue along an arroyo trail to Val Vista park by 680. From there we will hike the arroyo trail to the 580/680 interchange, where I will show you where the Iron Horse trail extension will be. Interesting if you are a biker. From there, we will go south to the Tennis Center (a gem). And then, we cross Hopyard to the Sports Park. We can snack/lunch at any of these parks. Water and flush toilets at all parks.
