Event Notes:

A choice of a moderate 5-mile 1000-foot elevation gain or a more strenuous 6.5-mile 1800-foot elevation gain loop hike. The route will be Bollinger Creek Trail and Las Trampas Ridge Trail to Las Trampas Peak. After a short rest/snack stop to enjoy the view, back on Las Trampas Ridge Trail to the Chamise Trail junction where the shorter hike will return on the Chamise Trail to the parking lot. The longer hike will continue on Las Trampas Ridge Trail, Del Amigo Trail, Sulpher Springs Trail, Trapline Trail, Mahogany Trail and Chamise Trail to the parking lot. There will be short rest/snack stops at Las Trampas Peak and also along the Sulpher Springs Trail for the longer hike. Dogs welcome, off-leash OK on the trails. Water and restrooms at the parking lot.

From 680 Southbound: Take exit 36 for Crow Canyon Rd for 0.1 mi Turn right onto Crow Canyon Rd for 1.1 mi Turn right onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot. From 680 Northbound: Take exit 36 for Crow Canyon Rd for 0.3 mi Turn left onto Crow Canyon Rd for 1.3 mi Turn right onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot. From I-580 in Castro Valley: Take Crow Canyon Road north to Bollinger Canyon Road. Turn left onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot.
