Two choices, 5.5- or 6.5-mile loop hike. The longer version is a strenuous, 6.5-mile, 2000 foot elevation gain hike to Devil's Hole, the lowest elevation in the park. The shorter version is a moderate 5.5-mile loop hike with a 1000-foot elevation gain. Both versions take the Elderberry Trail and the Rocky Ridge View Trail to the Devil's Hole Trail junction. The shorter hike continues on the Rocky Ridge View Trail to the paved road by the Comm Tower for the return to the parking lot. The longer hike continues down the Devil's Hole Trail to its junction with the Sycamore Trail near Devil's Hole. After a short rest/snack stop, continue up the Sycamore Trail, the Rocky Ridge Trail and the paved road to the parking lot. Water and toilets at the parking lot. Dog friendly, off-leash is OK on the trails.

From I-580 in Castro Valley: Take Crow Canyon Road north to Bollinger Canyon Road. Turn left onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot.
