Event Notes:

Chabot Lake and Tree Hike

A moderate 6.5 mile, 900 foot elevation hike in EBRPD Anthony Chabot and Lake Chabot Parks.

Starting from the day use parking lot we descend to Lake Chabot on Brandon, Towhee, and Live Oak Trails. We then walk along the lake, and through the forest, on the Honker Bay, and Columbine Trails to Hawk Ridge for a snack break.

We return to the Parking Lot on Two Rocks and Brandon Trails.

The Anthony Chabot Day Use Lot is on the left side of Marciel Road, just past Rifle Range Road, 1.5 miles from Marciel Gate at the intersection of the Brandon Trail and Marciel Road.
Address for Marciel Gate at Anthony Chabot Park is 9999 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, CA 94546.
From I-580 westbound: Take the Redwood Road exit toward Castro Valley. Turn right onto Redwood Road. Go 6.1 miles to Marciel Gate on the left.
From I-580 eastbound: Take the Redwood Road exit toward Castro Valley. Turn left onto Redwood Road. Go 6.1 miles to Marciel Gate on the left.
From Hwy 24 westbound or Hwy 13: Take the CA-13 South exit toward Hayward/California. After 4.2 miles on CA-13 take the Redwood Road exit toward Carson Street. Turn left onto Redwood Road. Follow Redwood Road for about 8 miles past Redwood Gate, Pinehurst Canyon, and Bort Meadow to Marciel Gate on the right. Continue on Marciel Road about 1.5 miles to the Day Use Lot.
