Event Notes:

About an 8 mile, 1,200-foot elevation gain, partial loop hike in Sausal Creek and Joaquin Miller Park, with an option for a shorter 5 mile out-and-back. Route will be up several Dimond Canyon Trails, Palos Colorados Trail, Lower Sinawik Trail, Sunset Trail, stopping to rest/snack at the picnic tables. Continuing on the Sunset Trail, Sequoia-Bayview Trail, Fern Ravine Trail, Sunset Loop Trail, Upper Sinawik Trail, back down the Palos Colorados Trail and Dimond Canyon Trails to the trailhead. Bathrooms (old & dirty) at trailhead and snack/rest area. We will start the hike from the large grass field across from the pool in Dimond Park. Note 9:00 AM start time.

Oakland's Dimond Park provides access to Sausal Creek trails and Joaquin Miller Park.

From Walnut Creek, HWY 24 West to HWY 13 South, take the Joaquin Miller/Lincoln Ave. Exit. From Dublin, HWY 580 West, HWY 13 North, take the Joaquin Miller/Lincoln Ave. Exit. Go west on Lincoln Ave, right on Damuth St, right on Fruitvale Ave. Dimond Park pedestrian entrance is on your left, across the street from 3756 Fruitvale Ave. Street parking only, no parking lot.
