Event Notes:

Dan will lead a moderate loop hike of about 6.5 miles and 1,200-foot elevation gain. Route begins from the Rock City parking area, Summit Trail, past Curry Point along Knobcone Pt. Road, Black Hawk Ridge Road, and Black Hills Road. After stopping to rest/snack looping back on Black Hawk Ridge Road, Sycamore Creek Road, and Trail Through Time back to the trailhead. Bathrooms/water at trailhead. No dogs allowed in Mt. Diablo State Park.

From I-680 southbound, take the El Cerro Blvd exit. Turn left onto El Cerro Blvd. After 0.9 miles stay straight to go onto Diablo Road. After 2.2 miles turn left onto Mt Diablo Scenic Blvd. Continue for 3.8 miles to South Gate Entrance Station. Then about 0.9 miles for the first left up to the Rock City Parking area. From I-680 northbound, take Diablo Road exit 39 in Danville. Turn right onto Diablo Road for 0.7 miles then turn right to stay on Diablo Road. After 2.2 miles turn left onto Mt Diablo Scenic Blvd. Continue for 3.8 miles to South Gate Entrance Station. Then about 0.9 miles for the first left up to the Rock City Parking area.
