Event Notes:

This is a loop hike around Mott Peak. It should take us about 3 hours. The route will be Old Briones Rd to Briones Crest, all the way around the Crest to Santos to Abrigo and back to the parking lot. When you enter the Bear Creek staging area, go straigt to the unattended kiosk. Turn left into the parking lot. Two porta potties. This hike is dog friendly and all sun. We will pause for snacks midway at Wee-Ta-Chi.

A 6.8 mile 5 hour moderate loop hike.

From Hwy 24, take the Orinda exit (about 1 1/2 miles east of the Caldecott Tunnel), and head north on Camino Pablo for approximately 2.2 miles until you reach Bear Creek Road. Turn right and go 4.5 miles to the park's Bear Creek Valley entrance. Turn right, and after 0.3 mile reach the entrance kiosk; continue 0.1 mile to the last parking area. Alternative route, From Highway 24, take the Happy Valley Road exit and go north. Turn right at Bear Creek Road and drive a short distance to the staging area (on the right).

Parking Fee: $5 when attended
Other Fees: $2 dog fee
