Event Notes:
A moderate 6-mile loop hike with an estimated elevation gain of 1100 feet. Route will be via Sulfur Creek, Ridge Top, Briones-Mt Diablo, Shell Loop and Stage Road trails to Castle Rock Park. We will take a short rest/snack stop at Castle Rock Park then return over the hill to Bob Pond, then Hanna Lane, and Costanoan trails to the trailhead. There are restrooms, water and picnic tables at both Bob Pond and Castle Rock Park. Dog friendly, off-leash OK on the trails. These Event Notes supersede the Trail Notes.

Trail Notes:

Approximately 5 mile loop hike with elevation gain of about 750 feet. There will be a midway stop at Borges Ranch which is equipped with covered picnic tables. Water and restrooms are available here. Dog friendly, off-leash OK on trails. A hike of moderate difficulty.

Trailhead Directions:

From 680 Fwy exit at Ygnacio Valley Rd. Turn right onto Ygnacio Valley Rd and drive for 1.7 miles to Walnut Ave (NOT Walnut Blvd). Turn right onto Walnut Ave and proceed for 1.3 miles to Snyder Lane. Turn right and drive for 0.6 miles to end of road. Park on street. From Ygnacio Valley Rd westbound drive to Wiget Lane. Turn left and drive for 0.7 mile to Walnut Ave. Turn left and proceed on Walnut Ave for 0.3 miles to Synder Lane. Turn right on Snyder Lane and drive for 0.6 mile to end of road. Park on street. Nearby address is 1250 Snyder Lane.
