There is a dirt area for parking just before the private resort. Gather and meet in this "public area" for the hike.

From Wild acres, we will walk about 50 yards to a get - that appears like a private property - sort of
is, but only for 1/2 mile or so. Thereafter the trail begins, veering off to the right. It is bit of a climb - pretty much all the way up - about 1.5 hrs if done fast. Stopping for water, checking out flora, taking in the views etc. might mean 2 -2.5 hrs to get to the top. Once at the top, there is a waterfall downhill all the way from the top - about 300 yds, fed by a pond.
This is both a kid friendly and dog friendly hike. :)

From Highway 24:
Take the Central Lafayette exit, coming from either direction.
From Oakland area turn right at the end of the freeway offramp and left onto Mt. Diablo Blvd.
From Walnut Creek area circle right under the freeway and turn right onto Mt Diablo Blvd.
This brings you to Mt. Diablo Blvd which is the main street in Lafayette.
Go 1 block to and turn left from Walnut Creek or right from Oakland onto Moraga Rd.,.
Go 1/4 mile (4 signal lights) to St. Mary's Rd. , turn left. (the left lane becomes a "Left Turn Only" lane)
Go 2 1/2 miles to the fourth stop sign which is Rohrer Dr. , and turn left.
Go 9 blocks (5 stop signs) to Silverado, and turn right onto Silverado.
Go to Bradbury,(1st stop sign) and turn left. You are now 1 mile away from Wildwood Acres Resort.
Bradbury becomes (Hunsaker Canyon Road). a private road.
Continue on Hunsaker Canyon Road until it reaches Wildwood Acres Resort.
The total distance from downtown Lafayette is 5 1/2 miles.
