Trail Notes:

A short hike mostly on EBMUD trails, but we will be crossing busy Cowell Road. Our final destination is the Vista point atop Newhall Park, home of the Concord Vietnam Memorial. This is a dog friendly hike, as there is a dog park at Newhall Park. This route is considered kid friendly for older children ages 9 and up. For kids 8 and under, an alternate starting point is 4571 Tuolumne Way, Concord. (Alternate starting point avoids the busy road crossing at Cowell Road and is flatter.) From here, head east at approximately 10:30AM towards Newhall Park along the California Riding and Hiking Trail.

Once you arrive at Newhall Park, turn left and follow the path to the north end of the park. The flag pole at the top of the hill to your left is the Vietnam Memorial.
