Castle Rock loop
City: Walnut Creek Region: EastBay Park: Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area
Sunday, June 20, 2010 @ 8:45 AM
Please note the 8:45 start. This is the same starting point as John's hike. We follow Pine Creek to the Dusty trail, turning right. We take Dusty to the Wall Point trail turning left. At the Briones Mt Diablo trail we turn right a short distance to the Little Yosemite trail, turning right down a beautiful ravine to Pine Creek. There are 2 picnic tables here that we can use for snacking. We follow Pine Creek back to the Castle Rock picnic grounds where there are flush toilets and water. More shade than sun but dress appropriately. Hike is about 6 miles and 700 ft of elevation gain.
