(There is a sign here that reads BLACK DIAMOND MINES REGIONAL PARK, and in about a mile for BLACK DIAMOND MINES REGIONAL PRESERVE; both refer to the same place.) At 2.6 miles from Hwy 4, you reach the entrance kiosk, park office, and emergency telephone; continue another .9 mile to a large parking area, right, with an overflow area, left.
