Event Notes:

Las Trampas - Rocky Ridge. A good climb out of the valley will provide great vistas of Las Trampas Ridge and Mt. Diablo to the east, and of the East Bay hills to the west. We will start at the staging area at the end of Bollinger Canyon Rd, hiking up the paved road/trail to the ridge. The climb is challenging but the road makes it easy! From the top of the ridge well head south on the Rocky Ridge View Trail, taking a side trip on the Sycamore trail for up close views of weathered rocks that give the ridge its name. From a vista point on the Sycamore trail we will turn around and head back the way we came. There should be little if any mud on this route, but light hiking boots are recommended for good footing on the trails. The hike is approximately 4 miles, with about 1000 total feet of climbing. Leader: Peter Cartwright, mobile 925-360-6405 before 9:00 PM

Trail Notes:

We will be doing a loop trail that starts out hilly and steep at the beginning and then levels off. Moderate overall.
