Event Notes:

Two Bridges and a Lighthouse. I've led this trip for my local club a couple of times and it is well liked. We will walk across the new Al Zampa Bridge and back, then take a short hike to the Pt. Bonita Lighthouse where we will eat our bag lunches, then top off the day with a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and back. We will meet at the south east corner of the North Berkeley BART Station at 10 AM and carpool to our multiple trailheads. Expect to return to the BART station around 4:30 PM. Bring water, lunch, and dress for probable breezy coastal weather.

Trail Notes:

We will walk across the recently completed Al Zampa Memorial Bridge (the new Carquinez Bridge), then drive across the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge to Point Bonita. (1 mile R/T) A moderate 1/2 mile hike takes us to its very scenic lighthouse where we can eat our lunches and watch the waves break on the coast below. (1 mile R/T) From there, we drive to the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge and walk across to the SF side and back. (3 mile R/T)

Trailhead Directions:

This trip has multiple starting points and limited parking so it is impractical for you to drive to each trailhead yourself. We will meet and carpool to each trailhead.

Parking Fee: none
