Trail Notes:

The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council and the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) will be dedicating a new section of the Bay Area Ridge Trail, Saturday November 4. The trail will travel 7.5 miles through beautiful Pinole Watershed and has spectacular views of the East Bay hills and the Carquinez Strait. This trail was a volunteer work project sponsored by the Ridge Trail Council, REI, and EBMUD on National Trails Day, June 2, 2007, and connectis to the Ridge Trail segment in Sobrante Ridge Regional Preserve (an East Bay Regional Parks District property), creating a nearly 10 mile continuous stretch of Ridge Trail.

The Pinole Watershed, currently not open to the public, will be accessible to hikers and equestrians after the dedication. Access to the trail will be free on November 3, but subsequently will require an EBMUD Trail Use Pemit.
