Exit 680S at Bernal. At Bernal turn right and go under 680 for 2 traffic lights. Turn left at the second light (Koll Center Dr.). Go a very short distance to Koll Center Pkwy (stop sign). Right turn and a very short distance to the first driveway on the right. Right into the parking lot of the Mexico Lindo restaurant. This is an orange/pinkish building that is very visable from Bernal and Koll Center.

Event Notes:

This is one of my favorite hikes that is not that difficult. We can split into 2 groups at the summit. One will do a shorter hike and the other a bit longer. Here's the deal. I need one Pleasanton resident in each vehicle that goes to the trailhead. Doesn't have to be the driver. We will carpool to the trailhead. If you have a school bus, that would be perfect. Please contact me by email if you are a participating Pleasanton resident.

Trail Notes:

PLEASANTON RESIDENT REQUIRED FOR ENTRY TO PARK. A short ride to the trailhead. The Pleasanton resident signs in for the vehicle at the guard station. It is 800' of elevation gain over 2 miles to the top of the Ridge. One mile further along the top of the Ridge to the scenic view spot. Take pictures. At this point we can split into 2 groups: those that want to return to the trail head for a total hike of 6 miles, and those that want to do an additional 3 mile loop into Sinbad Canyon for a total hike of 9 miles (plus an additional 500' of elevation gain). The 6 mile hike is 2+ hours and the 9 mile hike is 3+ hours. Both hikes are 50% shade.

Trailhead Directions:

NON-PLEASANTON RESIDENTS -- MEET AT CARPOOL!!!

From the carpool location, we take Bernal west 1/4 mile to Foothill (light). Left 1 mile to Golden Eagle Way (stop sign). Right 50' to the guard shack. Stay in the left lane. Left at the first intersection (Golden Eagle Way) to the staging area.
