Mitchell canyon to deer flat hike (Mountainare Pkwy)
Park: Mt. Diablo State Park
Saturday, May 19, 2007 @ 11:30 AM
This hike should last about 5 hours. Most of the hike is fairly easy except the last 40 minutes. At this point we will climb out of Mitchell canon to Deer Flat.
There will be a bathroom stop after approximately 45 minutes. hopefully we will catch some leftover spring flowers and a butterfly or two. If you have questions call Paul at 925-705-3262.
Most of the hike will be relatively flat, except for a 40 minute climb past a lot of flowers up to deer Flat. We will be following Mitchell creek most of the way, and we may see a lot of butterflys. It should take about 2 hours one way.
