Diablo Foothills

City: Alamo
Region: EastBay
Park: Diablo Foothills Park

Sunday, May 13, 2007 @ 9:30 AM

Event Notes:

Loop hike through varied terrain... a little bit of everything...from open grassy ridges along fire roads to hidden single track trails, along with some interesting rock formations and a few creek crossings. Lunch in quiet, secluded picnic area next to Pine Creek. Figure on about 8 mi total distance. There is a bail out point for those who wish to only do about half the loop. Some climbs on the way out and on return after lunch but not that difficult. Walking sticks/hiking poles recommended as well as good gripping boots. . Bring something for stop at picnic area, water & layered clothes. Great views of Mt Diablo and valleys to the north and south. Return by around 1:30 pm.

Leader: Paul

Trail Notes:

Some climbs on the way out and on return after lunch but not that difficult. Walking sticks/hiking poles recommended as well as good gripping boots. Some creek crossings during and after rainy season.
