Trail Notes:

The total elevation gain should be about 800 ft, but could vary depending on route chosen. Dogs are allowed but should remain leashed on the trails north of Ygnacio Valley Road. Dogs are not permitted on trails south of Ygnacio Valley Road. During the rainy season, be prepared for some mud. We should see nice vistas and possibly a hawk or maze.

Trailhead Directions:

From hwy. 24. Take 680 north to Walnut Creek and the Treat blvd. exit. Turn right and drive east approx. 3 miles. After San Simeon Drive (light) make the first right turn at Citrus Avenue (no light). If you started driving uphill you went too far. Drive approximately half a mile and watch for the bike trail crossing road sign. Park next to the Contra Costa canal trail that crosses Citrus Avenue. The Canal Trail is located between residences 700 & 701 on one side, and 3415 & 3714 on the other side.
