Event Notes:

Choose a 6 mile 1,000 foot out-and-back or an 8 mile 1,700 foot elevation gain balloon hike starting from Rancho Laguna Park in Moraga. Route will be No Name Trail, Rocky Ridge Trail, right (counter clockwise) on Carr Ranch Loop Trail. Short hike will rest/snack after hiking one mile into Carr Ranch at the old metal corral past the 3rd gate. Short hike then turns around and retraces back to Rancho Laguna Park. Long hike continues on up Carr Ranch Loop Trail stopping to rest/snack at the very top of the hill at the trail junction just past the 4th gate. Long hike then completes the loop and retraces Rocky Ridge Trail back to Rancho Laguna trailhead. Bring your EBMUD trail pass if you have one or be a guest on one of ours. Water/porta potty at Rancho Laguna Park.

Trail Notes:

Rancho Laguna Park provides access to John Muir Land Trust's Carr Ranch, EBMUD trails, and the Old Moraga Ranch Trail. Trails into Las Trampas Regional Wilderness and Upper San Leandro Reservoir also start from here.

NOTE: Some trails from this trailhead go onto EBMUD property, an EBMUD Permit would be required when using those trails.

Trailhead is Rancho Laguna Park, 2101 Camino Pablo, Moraga. From Walnut Creek take HWY 24 to the Central Lafayette Exit and make the first 2 immediate right turns. Turn right on Mt. Diablo Blvd and left on Moraga Road. Continue on Moraga Road for about 5 miles, left on Camino Pablo for 2 miles, park entrance is on your left. From Oakland HWY 24 East, take Orinda Exit, right on Moraga Way, right on Canyon, left on Camino Pablo for 2 miles, park entrance is on your left.
