Event Notes:

9:00 am start time. Choose a 6 mile 900 foot or a 7.8 mile 1,300 foot elevation gain partial loop hike in the hills overlooking Martinez. Starting from the Mount Wanda trailhead route will be through the tunnel, immediate left up the Mokelumne Trail, left on No Name Trail #1, Hulet Hornbeck Trail, at the cow shed turn right staying north of the tall palm tree, continue downhill to the fence, then left onto No Name Trail #2. As you exit the second gate go straight up Rankin Park Trail, right onto California Riding and Hiking Trail, veer right onto Franklin Ridge Loop Trail stopping to rest/snack at the view point bench overlooking the straits. Short hike turns around here and follows the ridge fire road back to the cars. Long hike continues counter clockwise around the Franklin Ridge Loop Trail, right on the ridge fire road, left at the F Street trail marker, quick right onto No Name Trail #3, then retraces the Mokelumne Trail back to the cars. No facilities on this hike.

Trailhead provides access to ridge line of Carquinez Regional Shoreline as well as Mt.Wanda.

HWY 680 North, HWY 4 West towards Martinez/Hercules, take the Martinez-Alhambra Ave. Exit, left onto Alhambra Ave., sharp right onto Franklin Canyon Road. Parking in the Mt. Wanda staging area or along Franklin Canyon Road.
