Event Notes:

9:00 am start time! Choose a 5.8 mile 800 foot or an 8 mile 1,100 foot elevation gain loop hike in the hills above Crockett. Route will be Edwards Creek Trail, right onto Wood Rat Trail, through the tunnel and straight onto Soaring Eagle Trail, stopping at the overlook picnic tables to rest/snack. Short hike turns around here and goes back Soaring Eagle Trail, taking a left onto Sky Trail back to the tunnel. After exiting the tunnel go right about 100 yards and turn left down Edwards Loop Trail (do NOT take the first left down Crockett Ranch Trail after exiting the tunnel) then left on Edwards Creek Trail back to the cars. Long hike will continue past the overlook turning right onto Big Valley Trail, through the gate and turn left continuing down Big Valley Trail, near the bottom left onto the single track Sugar City Trail (there is no marker for Sugar City Trail) at the top of the hill through the gate to also rest/snack the the overlook picnic tables. Return from here as described above for the short hike. Pit toilet and water at trail head.
