Help Steve cross the entire Anthony Chabot Park off his list at9:00am . A three-fer choice of a moderate 7.1/1500' shorter hike, a moderate++ 8.1/1800' medium hike, and a challenging 9.7/1950' long hike. Steve's last trail is on the long option. Route is Redtail Trail, right on Grass Valley, left on connector trail across creek to Brandon Trail, then right. Left on Horseshoe up to the equestrian center, left on Goldenrod, stay left on Goldenrod to the Jackson Grade. Short hike turns left on Skyline Trail (Jackson Grade) bike route up to the Stone Bridge for a break. Continue right on Brandon, left on Deer Canyon, cross Marciel Road and left on Redtail back to the parking area.
The medium and long hikes stay on Goldenrod. The medium hike turns left on Columbine, then left on Cascade. Find a nice spot here for a snack. Continue on Cascade, right on Brandon at Stone Bridge, left on Deer Canyon, cross Marciel Road and left on Redtail back to the parking area. The long hike continues on Goldenrod then left on Bass Cove Trail. Find a shady spot for a break before continuing to Columbine, left. Straight/Right on Cascade and follow the medium hike directions back from here. Please note: This group does not stay together on the hike instead relying on arrows put on the ground with flour to mark turns. You are encouraged to stay with others who are hiking your speed and you should also carry the trail route map either downloaded to your phone or in paper form.
