Event Notes:

Choose a 7 mile 425 foot or an 8.5 mile 725 foot elevation gain loop hike in Livermore's Sycamore Grove Park starting from Independence Park (use 2798 Holmes St. for GPS). Route will be connector trail to park entrance, Magpie Nature Trail, Creek Trail, Sycamore Trail, Arroyo del Valle Regional Trail, Winery Loop Trail, left up No Name Trail before the Olivina Winery Ruins, left on Wagon Road Trail with the short hike staying on Wagon Road Trail to Cattail Pond stopping there to rest/snack. Long hike will go clockwise on Valley View Loop Trail before returning back on Wagon Road Trail also stopping at Cattail Pond to snack. Return clockwise on Cattail Pond Loop Trail, Wagon Road Trail, Winery Loop Trail back to the park entrance and connector trail back to Independence Park. Water and flush toilets 1/2 mile into the hike at Sycamore Grove Park main entrance.

Trail head is Independence Park, Holmes Street, Livermore. Lots of free parking with easy access to the trails of Sycamore Grove Park.

HWY 580 East, Exit CA-84 W/Isabel Ave., turn right onto CA-84 W/Isabel Ave. for 3.3 miles, Left onto E. Vineyard Ave., Left onto Vallecitos Road. Continue onto Holmes Street. Independence Park is on your right.
