Event Notes:

Choose a 6 mile 800 foot or an 8 mile 1,200 foot elevation gain loop hike starting from Island picnic/roadside area in Tilden Regional Park. Route will be Selby Trail, Memory Trail, Upper Packrat Trail, left on Wildcat Creek Trail, right on Sylvan Trail stopping to rest/snack at the back patio of the Visitor Center. Return on Laurel Canyon Trail, short hike turns right on Loop Road, left on Wildcat Gorge Trail, across Lake Anza Dam, counter clockwise along the paved lakeside path past the snack shack/bathrooms and retrace the Selby Trail back to the cars. Long hike turns left on Loop Road, right up Laurel Canyon Road, right at the second Laurel Canyon Trail marker, left on Pine Tree Trail, left on Loop Road and then follow same return as the short hike. Water/bathrooms at Island trailhead, Visitor Center and Lake Anza. NO DOGS allowed in Tilden Nature Area.

From HWY 24 take the Orinda Exit and go north on Camino Pablo for 2.2 miles to Wildcat Canyon Road. Turn left (uphill) onto Wildcat Canyon Road. Go about 4.2 miles to ISLAND picnic/roadside area. (ISLAND picnic area is on your right 1/4 mile past the Botanic Garden) Street parking only in front of the bathrooms.
