Event Notes:

Coyotes, Foxes, and Ravens Hike

NOTE EARLIER START TIME!! Join us for a hike in Morgan Territory at 9:00 am. Hiker's choice of a moderate 5.2 mile/1400' short hike, a moderately challenging 6.3 mile/1600' medium hike, or a challenging 7.3/2000' long hike on a day forecast to be cool.

Please either print out or download to your phone the trail route map here. Starting at the Main Parking Area, we cross the roadway to find Clyma Trail, staying left at any junctions to stay on it for 2 miles. At the junction of Clyma and Highland Ridge the hikes diverge. The short and medium hikes will continue down Clyma to the right, then veer left onto Highland Ridge crossing over the paved road and through the gates. Find a clearing under the trees on the left just before Stone Corral Trail for a break. Turn right on Stone Corral, then right on Coyote for 1.5 miles. The short hike will turn right at the end of the pond (do not go through gate) onto Condor and back to the cars. The medium hike will go through the gate and left up Condor over the bridge. When you reach the large fire road, turn right on Volvon. Make three right turns at the next junctions to remain on Volvon all the way back to the cars.

The long hike turns left on Highland Ridge, right down Raven. Before you reach the roadway Raven curves to the left and so will you. At another bend to the left you will start your climb up Raven and left on Fox. Continue back the way you came on Highland Ridge to the Clyma intersection and follow the directions for the short hike back to the cars. Dogs allowed. Flour arrows may mark your route. Please download the map to your phone ahead of time, there is no service in Morgan Territory!

Please note: This group does not stay together on the hike instead relying on arrows put on the ground with flour to mark turns. You are encouraged to stay with others who are hiking your speed and you should also carry the trail route map (link above) either downloaded to your phone or in paper form.
