Event Notes:

Hikers choice of a 7 mile 1,600 foot or 8.4 mile 1,850 foot elevation gain out-and-back hike starting from the most EASTERN SECTION of the ORINDA BART parking lot. Route begins on a pedestrian walkway, carefully crossing Camino Pablo and signing in at the EBMUD kiosk at the Siesta Valley trailhead. Route ascends the De la Veaga Trail, right on Skyline Trail with the short hike stopping to rest/snack at the picnic tables across from the Tilden Steam Train. Long hike continues right up the road onto the Vollmer Peak Trail up to the peak. After enjoying the view it returns to join the others at the picnic area. Return retraces back to the cars. No facilities at the trailhead but water/bathrooms at the Tilden Steam Train. Bring your EBMUD pass if you have one. No dogs allowed on this section of EBMUD trails.

EBMUD's DeLeVeaga trail ascends Siesta Valley and provides access to Tilden Regional Park, Claremont Canyon and Sibley Volcanic Preserve.

Trailhead is the Orinda BART Station parking lot (most eastern section of the lot) HWY 24, take the Orinda Exit, follow signs into the BART parking lot. NO PARKING FEE on weekends.

Parking Fee: None (on weekends)
Other Fees: Permits cost $3/day, $10/1yr, $20/3yrs, $30/5yrs
