Borges Ranch (from Macedo)

City: Alamo
Region: EastBay
Park: Mt. Diablo

Sunday, August 13, 2006 @ 9:30 AM

Event Notes:

We start from the Macedo Ranch staging area of Mt Diablo State Park and hike north over small hills to the Borges Ranch. There are picnic tables there (shade and sun), flush toilets and water. There is also a small animal farm at Borges. We will picnic there, and then return to Macedo. This is an easy hike with total elevation gain of ~250' and ~6 miles total. The hike is 99% in the sun.

Trail Notes:

An easy hike, 7 miles with little elevation gain. This hike is 99% in the sun. We will hike north to the Borges Ranch, which is the highlight of the hike. This is a great place to see how people lived a century ago. Bring something to eat, as there are picnic tables. There are also flush toilets at Borges. I will also attempt to explain the quail habitat that has been introduced to the area. Quite interesting.

Trailhead Directions:
