Event Notes:

Choose a 6.6 mile 1,450 foot or a 7.9 mile 1,750 foot elevation gain balloon hike into Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park starting from Alviso Adobe Community Park. Route will be Courdet Trail, a sharp left then a right onto the Ridgeline Trail, left down Shady Creek Trail, left at trail marker #28 onto Bay Leaf Trail, stopping to rest/snack at marker #27 the trail junction for Bay Leaf & Schuhart Trails. Short hike follows straight on Schuhart Trail, veers right on Ridgeline Trail, left on No Name Trail, and turns right to descend the Courdet Trail back to the parking area. Long hike continues on the single track Bay Leaf Trail, turns left at marker #25 up the Bay Leaf fire road trail, left on Ridgeline Trail, veer right onto No Name Trail, and also descends the Courdet Trail back to the parking area. No facilities at start of hike, brand new EBRP toilet is locked and Alviso Adobe Park does not open until 10:00 am. We will meet next to the closed EBRP toilet off of Old Foothill Road located just behind Alviso Adobe Park.

Trail Notes:

Castleridge Trailhead located on Old Foothill Road just behind Alviso Adobe Community Park provides access into the northern area of Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park via Courdet Trail. Pit toilet at trailhead, water & flush toilets across the road in Alviso Adobe Community Park, park opens at 10:00 am.

Alviso Adobe Community Park, 3465 Old Foothill Road, Pleasanton. HWY 680, exit Bernal Ave and turn west (left) for 0.3 mile, then turn right onto Foothill Road for 0.3 mile. Alviso Adobe is on your left, it has two parking areas, the first left takes you into their parking lot, or continue on Foothill Road past Alviso Adobe and turn left onto Old Foothill Road, a one-way road with street parking for an additional 25 cars. The trailhead is off of Old Foothill Road located immediately behind Alviso Adobe Community Park.
