Event Notes:

Cedar Mtn - Black Sage Trail

Time to go back to Lake Del Valle for a two-for-one hike on some trails we haven't done together. Your choice of a
6 mile, 1000 ft ele., or
9 mile, 1700 ft ele. Hike.

Starting from the South end of the Marina Parking Lot we'll head out along the lake on the East Shore Trail passing under the bridge up to the service road. Crossing over Arroyo Valle on the bridge and descending into the Family Campground. We cross Arroyo Valle Creek on Cedar Mtn. Trail ascending to Black Sage Trail where the short hike group can stop to snack.

Following the Black Sage Trail around to a right turn onto the fire road the groups split up at the pond where the shorter hike follows Cedar Camp Trail to Del Valle Road, turning left .15 miles along the road to the trailhead back to the East Shore Trail and the cars.

The longer hike crosses over the pond Dam on the fire road stopping to snack after .6 mile. We then continue on ascending to the top of Del Valle Road, where we turn left down along the road to the East Ridge Trail. We complete the hike along East Ridge, Left on Ridgeline, and Right on Squirrel Gulch Trails to the Marina.

Please follow this Google Maps link to the Marina Parking Lot on the East shore of Lake Del Valle.
